Life, Leadership, and Learning
I’ve been pondering how people's experiences shape their fixed or growth-oriented mindset and how this impacts their perception of the world and finding harmony in learning to learn.
The truth is that all of the most impressive qualities I have absorbed are from humans with a growth mindset. I naturally gravitate towards others who are like me in heart and mind. However, I have experienced the heartwrenching struggle of navigating those who are not like me and live with a narrow-minded outlook.
In education, I have understood that every individual is unique and special. Life is a unique experience that our differences and similarities can shape. I have learned to embrace the grey areas and challenges in my life, using them as opportunities to grow and learn. These experiences have helped me inspire my students to do the same, encouraging them to embrace their uniqueness and reach their fullest potential.
My students teach me daily lessons on resilience and perseverance and how humans can develop when a healthy and trusting relationship bond forms. This is the core of my tutoring service for Reading Specialists. Students who feel loved and engaged have fun and are eager to learn more. Students who feel loved and engaged have fun and are eager to learn more. Engaged learning allows students to participate actively in their education, fostering ownership and curiosity. When students feel empowered and involved in learning, they are more likely to retain information and develop a lifelong love of learning.
But today, when faced with the dichotomy mindset, I am still astonished at this behavior and its existence in education; it does not belong. I believe that it is essential to recognize that people have different experiences and perspectives and that it is important to listen to and learn from those perspectives. Doing so can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters personal growth and development. To overcome this challenge, I am creating a response to this personality type while channeling my growth mindset for those who are willing to let me in.
